I thought it would be nice to have a break from the shop review posts this Sunday, as I know they won't be of interest to everyone. So instead, I've got a giveaway for you:
The fabric was purchased during the 2012 Crafters Ceilidh Edinburgh meet up in Mandors and is pure wool, possibly with some fancy fibres mixed in (I can't remember) but definitely no polyester. It measure 155cm in length and 158 cm wide, so definitely enough for a shirt and possibly a dress.
(The fabric pattern runs perpendicular to the fabric edges, not diagonal, it's hard to tell from my pictures)
The pattern is the Eva dress by Eliza M, which requires stretch fabric. I have not used this pattern, or any patterns by Eliza M so I have no idea what the pattern is like. I got it free with a sewing magazine but it's not my style.
The reason for the giveaway is that the pattern is not something I would wear and I just don't know what to do with the fabric, lovely as it is. I bought it with the intention of making a pencil skirt but I don't really wear that style any more and the fabric is too nice to be left to languish. I nearly had second thoughts bout giving it away as it's lovely but it's just not 'speaking' to me anymore, so away it must go. Do you ever find that issue with your stash?
The giveaway is for both items and is open internationally. I will keep it open until Wednesday 5th November at 5pm UK time and I will select a winner at random after then.
If you'd like to enter, please leave a comment below. I'd also love it if you told me what your TNT (Tried and True), favourite pattern is. I'm looking for some new ideas for useful and adaptable patterns.
